Expan­sion of the IOPU prod­uct range from Perkins

This year Perkins cel­e­brates its 90th anniver­sary. With this long­stand­ing exper­tise, Perkins is one of the world’s lead­ing sup­pli­ers of diesel and gas engines. Perkins´ aim is to offer the most com­pre­hen­sive range of inno­v­a­tive and reli­able pow­er solu­tions, tai­lored to the pre­cise require­ments of its customers.

This is exact­ly what Perkins is doing with the lat­est expan­sion of a 2.8 and a 3.6 litre option to its Indus­tri­al Open Pow­er Unit (IOPU) range. The lat­est IOPUs are part of the pop­u­lar Perkins® 904 Series and were designed to pro­vide orig­i­nal equip­ment man­u­fac­tur­ers (OEMs) in the agri­cul­tur­al, con­struc­tion and indus­tri­al sec­tors with access to plug-and-play pow­er solu­tions that meet EU Stage V emis­sions standards.

The tur­bocharged 2.8 litre option deliv­ers up to 55 kW and 300 Nm of torque at 1600 rpm, while the larg­er and more pow­er­ful 3.6 litre tur­bocharged after­cooled offer­ing has a max­i­mum out­put of 100 kW and 550 Nm of torque at 1500 rpm.

Flex­i­ble by nature
As with all Perkins IOPUs, the 2.8 and 3.6 litre mod­els are high­ly inte­grat­ed and ready to plug into a vari­ety of machines, remov­ing the need for exten­sive reengi­neer­ing or design. Whether cus­tomers need to replace a cur­rent pow­er sys­tem or pow­er a new prod­uct, the lat­est mem­bers of the 904 Series range are pre-installed with ECM, aftertreat­ment, sen­sors and fuel fil­ter com­pat­i­ble with a wide range of machine types.

  • Min­i­mal re-engi­neer­ing – Full aftertreat­ment mount­ing, inte­grat­ed cool­ing sys­tem, full wiring har­ness and mount­ing for the ECM and fuel filter
  • Flex­i­ble design – Avail­able with a num­ber of con­fig­u­ra­tions to suit dif­fer­ent machine types from indus­tri­al to agri­cul­tur­al machines
  • Emis­sions – Meets EU Stage V, U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and Japan 2014 (Tier 4 Final) emis­sion standards
  • Electrics – To inte­grate with your machine the 3.6 litre IOPU can be con­fig­ured with either 12 or 24V electrics
  • Fuel con­sump­tion – Opti­mised to match the oper­at­ing cycles of a wide range of off-high­way applications
  • Ease of main­te­nance – Hydraulic tap­pets, mul­ti-vee belts and 500 hour ser­vice inter­vals enable low cost own­er­ship and maintenance
