As specialists for Perkins engines our service team helps at any time quickly and competently. This time our technicians serviced a Geotec Rotomax XL GT drilling rig, equipped with a Perkins 1104C-44TA, with a smoke issue. The drilling rig was built in 2007 and had 6,500 operating hours. The engine was checked thoroughly in our workshop and a worn-out turbocharger as well as unproperly working injectors have been detected. The core engine was in a good condition with very good and equal compression on cylinders.
After our service technicians renewed the turbocharger and the injectors with genuine Perkins spare parts a minor maintenance was performed. After a final checkup and test run the engine now runs perfectly and is back in service again.
