Robust, precise, powerful: The Hymach HERBHY series with Perkins engines from BU Power Systems

By 1. July 2026 No Comments

Founded in 1983, Hymach has grown from the very beginning by following a clear vision: to develop machines that are truly useful, starting from direct dialogue with operators and from hands-on field experience. Active in the green maintenance sector, the company has built its know-how through close collaboration with professionals, transforming everyday operational needs into concrete, reliable, high-performance solutions. From the outset, Hymach chose to stand out by prioritizing design and manufacturing quality over purely cost-driven approaches. Over time, this philosophy has translated into a structured and determined capacity for innovation, resulting in a broad and clearly recognizable product range that reflects technical expertise, passion for the product, and genuine attention to functionality. Today, the offering is structured into three main product lines: boom mowers for tractors and other vehicles, remote-controlled tracked tool carriers, and dedicated solutions for photovoltaic panel cleaning. For over twelve years, Hymach has been equipping its remote-controlled tracked vehicles with Perkins diesel engines, a technology partner known worldwide for reliability, performance and efficiency. This strategic choice is driven by the need to ensure operational continuity, robustness, and consistent performance even under the most demanding working conditions and on complex terrain.

HERBHY 50 LE and HERBHY 50 CLE – Perkins 403J-E17T Series

The flagship models of the HERBHY tool carrier range are the 50 LE and the compact 50 CLE version. Both combine performance and agility with a power output of 50 hp (36 kW), delivered by the three-cylinder Perkins 403J-E17T turbo diesel engine. The HERBHY 50 LE stands out for its structural strength and its ability to operate with heavier-duty attachments, while the HERBHY 50 CLE is characterized by compact dimensions and maximum agility, making it ideal for operations where maneuverability and speed of execution are critical. Both models feature a robust extendable undercarriage with independent widening of each track, a technical solution that ensures high stability, optimal traction, and operational safety on any type of surface. Performance is fully expressed on steep slopes and extreme terrain, where the machines operate with full control on inclines of up to 55°.

HERBHY 60 LE and HERBHY Z60 LE – Perkins 404J-E22T Series

The HERBHY 60 LE version represents a further step forward in terms of power. Equipped with a 60 hp (45 kW) four-cylinder Perkins engine, it delivers higher performance while maintaining the handling, stability, and control that characterizes the previous model. This solution is designed for users who require greater operational capacity without compromising working precision. The machine is also available in the Z60 configuration, featuring offset tracks that allow operation on uneven or stepped terrain, or in situations where it is necessary to raise the undercarriage to overcome obstacles along the working path.

HERBHY 75 LE and HERBHY X – Perkins 404J-E22TA Series

In addition to retaining all the features of the previous models, the HERBHY 75 LE is equipped with a reinforced frame and powerful systems that make it suitable for the most demanding applications, such as forestry operations or earthmoving. The latest project developed by Hymach is the HERBHY X, a removable remote-controlled tracked tool carrier featuring a quick-coupling system, three-point hitch (Categories I, II, and III), and DIN interface. This extremely versatile platform is designed to make the most of the company’s attachment fleet and adapt to a wide range of applications, including mulchers, chippers, agricultural, forestry, road maintenance, and earthmoving equipment. At the heart of the HERBHY X is a 75 hp (55 kW) four-cylinder Perkins Stage V engine, equipped with a bidirectional cooling system engineered to ensure maximum efficiency even in dusty environments or under significant temperature fluctuations. Not just a machine, but a multi-purpose platform designed to effectively meet the needs of professionals who must balance productivity, safety, and operational results on a daily basis.

The choice of Perkins power units stems from Hymach’s direct experience gained under extreme operating conditions. Thanks to their high build quality and overall performance, the engines installed on Hymach vehicles have proven particularly well suited to supporting high-performance hydraulic systems, a core element in machine operation. High torque and power output, combined with low fuel consumption, robustness, and long-term reliability, allow full exploitation of high-capacity hydraulic pumps while maintaining consistent efficiency and precise control.

“In this context, BU Power Systems has proven to be the ideal partner, not only for the quality of the solutions offered, but also for its extensive service network at both national and global level — an essential strategic value for a manufacturer like Hymach, strongly focused on service continuity, customer satisfaction, and minimizing machine downtime.” says Monica Ricci – Business Operation Manager.

A balance of engineering and design that translates into tangible value for Hymach and for the professionals who work in the field every day, tackling complex operational challenges with reliable, high-performance tools designed to last overtime.
