Sym­bol­ic han­dover of the new ware­house at BU Pow­er Sys­tems: Suc­cess­ful mile­stone on the road to the logis­tics of the future

Ibben­büren, 2 June 2025 — Today’s sym­bol­ic han­dover of the extend­ed ware­house by Köster GmbH to BU Pow­er Sys­tems marks the offi­cial com­ple­tion of a major con­struc­tion project. Around nine months after the ground-break­ing cer­e­mo­ny, the new hall sec­tion at the Ibben­büren site was com­plet­ed on sched­ule. The com­pa­ny is thus con­sis­tent­ly con­tin­u­ing on its growth path — with a focus on effi­cien­cy, sus­tain­abil­i­ty and future security.

“We are delight­ed to be cel­e­brat­ing the han­dover today togeth­er with our con­struc­tion part­ner Köster GmbH. The new ware­house expands our stor­age capac­i­ty by almost 1,000 square metres and is an essen­tial build­ing block for the fur­ther expan­sion of our logis­tics process­es,” empha­sis­es Niklas Deit­ing, CFO of the BU Pow­er Group. ‘It is par­tic­u­lar­ly note­wor­thy that we were able to main­tain our ongo­ing oper­a­tions dur­ing the entire con­struc­tion phase — a great achieve­ment by every­one involved.’

The expan­sion not only pro­vides more space, but also mod­ern infra­struc­ture: a new sprin­kler sys­tem ensures enhanced fire pro­tec­tion for the exist­ing and new parts of the pro­duc­tion and stor­age hall, which now totals over 6,000 square metres, a pho­to­volta­ic sys­tem on the hall roof pro­vides sus­tain­able ener­gy — and 21 new park­ing spaces, includ­ing eight with e‑charging sta­tions, com­plete the over­all concept.

‘With this invest­ment, we are not only cre­at­ing space for fur­ther growth, but also strength­en­ing our oper­a­tional effi­cien­cy,’ adds Jan-Sebas­t­ian See­ber, Man­ag­ing Direc­tor of the BU Pow­er Group. ‘Our cus­tomers ben­e­fit direct­ly from opti­mised process­es, bet­ter avail­abil­i­ty and short­er response times — even with com­plex logis­ti­cal requirements.’

The new hall is already in oper­a­tion: the logis­tics depart­ment is cur­rent­ly start­ing to grad­u­al­ly store the goods, as far as day-to-day busi­ness allows. In this way, the tran­si­tion to the expand­ed oper­a­tion will be seam­less­ly inte­grat­ed into the dai­ly work routine.

The Man­ag­ing Direc­tors of the BU Pow­er Group and Köster GmbH, rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the con­struc­tion project and project man­agers from both com­pa­nies were among those present at the handover.
