Ibbenbüren, 2 June 2025 — Today’s symbolic handover of the extended warehouse by Köster GmbH to BU Power Systems marks the official completion of a major construction project. Around nine months after the ground-breaking ceremony, the new hall section at the Ibbenbüren site was completed on schedule. The company is thus consistently continuing on its growth path — with a focus on efficiency, sustainability and future security.
“We are delighted to be celebrating the handover today together with our construction partner Köster GmbH. The new warehouse expands our storage capacity by almost 1,000 square metres and is an essential building block for the further expansion of our logistics processes,” emphasises Niklas Deiting, CFO of the BU Power Group. ‘It is particularly noteworthy that we were able to maintain our ongoing operations during the entire construction phase — a great achievement by everyone involved.’
The expansion not only provides more space, but also modern infrastructure: a new sprinkler system ensures enhanced fire protection for the existing and new parts of the production and storage hall, which now totals over 6,000 square metres, a photovoltaic system on the hall roof provides sustainable energy — and 21 new parking spaces, including eight with e‑charging stations, complete the overall concept.
‘With this investment, we are not only creating space for further growth, but also strengthening our operational efficiency,’ adds Jan-Sebastian Seeber, Managing Director of the BU Power Group. ‘Our customers benefit directly from optimised processes, better availability and shorter response times — even with complex logistical requirements.’
The new hall is already in operation: the logistics department is currently starting to gradually store the goods, as far as day-to-day business allows. In this way, the transition to the expanded operation will be seamlessly integrated into the daily work routine.
The Managing Directors of the BU Power Group and Köster GmbH, representatives of the construction project and project managers from both companies were among those present at the handover.
