BU Pow­er Sys­tems wins BOMAG Sup­pli­er Award

The com­pa­ny BOMAG, world mar­ket leader in com­paction tech­nol­o­gy and man­u­fac­tur­er of machines for the com­paction of soil, asphalt and refuse, presents the Sup­pli­er Awards every year for out­stand­ing per­for­mance and part­ner­ship with its sup­pli­ers. As a qual­i­ty man­u­fac­tur­er, the com­pa­ny places the high­est demands on its own prod­ucts. There­fore, an excel­lent sup­pli­er net­work is essen­tial. Qual­i­ty and smooth deliv­ery process­es are not a mat­ter of course, but, in the com­pa­ny’s opin­ion, always the result of good coop­er­a­tion. The sup­pli­er award is a spe­cial recog­ni­tion of joint success.

Due to the cur­rent Coro­na sit­u­a­tion, this year’s award cer­e­mo­ny could not take place in the usu­al frame­work with a large event. Instead, Mar­co Braun, Glob­al Com­mod­i­ty Man­ag­er Ser­vices & Solu­tions Sourc­ing at BOMAG, and Matthias Trapp, as Head of Spare Parts MRP Depart­ment respon­si­ble for plan­ning and pro­cure­ment, pre­sent­ed the award for the cat­e­go­ry Ser­vices & Solu­tions in a dig­i­tal event to the respon­si­ble per­sons at BU Pow­er Sys­tems GmbH & Co. KG. “Our award rep­re­sents a spe­cial mea­sure in spe­cial times. Reli­able part­ner­ships are gain­ing impor­tance and our award is intend­ed to under­line this. Espe­cial­ly in the ser­vice sec­tor, it will become increas­ing­ly impor­tant to have a sound part­ner who offers appro­pri­ate ser­vices. We notice that our cus­tomers increas­ing­ly val­ue good ser­vice,” explains Mar­co Braun. “We han­dle the sourc­ing of around 55,000 dif­fer­ent arti­cles from all over the world and with this award we would like to express spe­cial appre­ci­a­tion to those sup­pli­ers who excel in terms of prod­uct qual­i­ty, deliv­ery capa­bil­i­ty and reli­a­bil­i­ty, adher­ence to deliv­ery dates, pric­ing, sourc­ing and sales struc­ture. Three of our sup­pli­ers stood out and were nom­i­nat­ed for the award. BU Pow­er Sys­tems per­formed very well and final­ly deserved­ly won the award.”

We will no longer have the same lev­el of con­ti­nu­ity as we have had in recent decades. We are fac­ing up to this in order to offer our cus­tomers the best pos­si­ble ser­vice. Com­mu­ni­ca­tion with our cus­tomers is par­tic­u­lar­ly impor­tant in this respect, so that we can iden­ti­fy cus­tomer needs and serve them appro­pri­ate­ly,” says Jan-Sebas­t­ian See­ber, Man­ag­ing Direc­tor of BU Pow­er Sys­tems GmbH & Co. KG and CFO of the BU Pow­er Group.

BOMAG nom­i­nates part­ners once a year in var­i­ous cat­e­gories and awards a sup­pli­er prize. The award is based on the pre­vi­ous fis­cal year, in this case from Octo­ber 1, 2019 to Sep­tem­ber 30, 2020.

As an appoint­ed Perkins dis­trib­u­tor BU Pow­er Sys­tems is respon­si­ble for the sales and the after-sales ser­vice of Perkins diesel and gas engines. BU Pow­er Sys­tems offers cus­tomized engine solu­tions for indus­try, con­struc­tion, agri­cul­ture, mate­r­i­al han­dling as well as for pow­er gen­er­a­tion and ships. In six­teen Euro­pean coun­tries we ensure pro­fes­sion­al prod­uct advice and com­pre­hen­sive ser­vice for all engine needs. The ser­vice port­fo­lio of BU Pow­er Sys­tems extends from engine sales through spare parts ser­vice to indi­vid­ual services.

Mr. Braun empha­sizes “Usu­al­ly there is a fes­tive award cer­e­mo­ny, but unfor­tu­nate­ly this is not pos­si­ble at present. Nev­er­the­less, I am pleased to con­grat­u­late you in this dig­i­tal meet­ing as the win­ner in the cat­e­go­ry “Ser­vices & Solu­tions”. In addi­tion to the very good per­for­mance in the areas we defined, I have a par­tic­u­lar exam­ple in mind, which involved the pro­cure­ment of Perkins engines that were actu­al­ly no longer avail­able. In an excep­tion­al­ly uncom­pli­cat­ed way, eight more of these Perkins engines were deliv­ered in time and our cus­tomer was happy”.

Matthias Trapp also thanks for the smooth coop­er­a­tion and states, “Some­times it is also good not to hear any­thing from a sup­pli­er. We had no com­plaints about Perkins prod­ucts in the course of the past year”.
