On May 5 and 6, BU Power Systems, together with Merlo Deutschland, invited Merlo dealers to the Merlo Dealer Conference in Ibbenbüren. The aim of the two-day event was to establish a shared understanding of engine technology, service solutions and the aftermarket structure, while further strengthening personal exchange and cooperation.
The event focused on building a sustainable partnership based on technical expertise, close dialogue and mutual understanding. Together with Merlo dealers from across Germany, current day-to-day challenges, market requirements and future collaboration opportunities were discussed. In addition, a company tour provided participants with direct insights into BU Power Systems’ internal processes and service operations.
Following the welcome and introduction by the management team, participants received comprehensive insights into the company structure and philosophy of BU Power Systems, as well as its long-standing partnership with Perkins. Particular attention was given to the aftermarket sector, including presentations on the service network, contact persons and service levels, as well as processes for troubleshooting, spare parts supply, warranty handling and service procedures.
A special focus was placed on the Perkins 904J-E36TA engine, which is used in the current PLUS and CS TOP models of the Merlo Panoramic series. The 3.6‑litre engine delivers up to 100 kW and combines high efficiency with reliable performance under real operating conditions while meeting EU Stage V emission standards.
During a joint feedback session, results from the Merlo network were presented, dealer requirements were discussed and concrete approaches for further developing the partnership were identified. The objective was to translate technical expertise into practical added value for dealers and their customers.
The event once again demonstrated that long-term market success is not based solely on powerful technology, but above all on trust, shared learning and continuous exchange between manufacturers, dealers and service partners. BU Power Systems CEO Jan-Sebastian Seeber also drew a positive conclusion from the event: “We were very pleased with the consistently positive feedback from the Merlo dealers. In particular, the open discussions and the positive responses to the hands-on company tour showed how valuable personal insights and a shared understanding of daily requirements are for a long-term partnership.”
