A clean affair with Perkins® 400 Series engines – Customized high-pressure cleaners to meet all requirements

By 14. May 2025 No Comments

Aquila A/S is a Danish company, which specialises in developing customised high-pressure cleaners. The company produces a full range of high-pressure cleaners from 150‑1500 bar for professional use with emphasis on a user-friendly operation, reliability, qualified support from a strong and qualified distributor network and with a strong back office in Denmark.

Aquila is a company, that with less than 20 employees, are a leading manufacturer of high-pressure cleaners in Europe and Scandinavia based on more than 40 years of experience. They sell and deliver their sophisticated high-pressure cleaners to a wide range of industries and businesses. The company has expanded their success in Denmark, to other European countries, including Norway, Sweden and France.

Aquila’s machine development is based on four standardised categories in different sizes determined by water pressure, flow and size of the engine and tank as well as application options. In addition, they specialise in building on demand and are happy to tailor the machine to suit the customer’s needs.

BU Power Systems Denmark is proud to support this quality-oriented customer and provide them with the Perkins 403J-E17T (36 kW), the 404J-E22T (45 kW) and 404J-E22TA (55 kW) engines for their Maxi machine models: The Maxi machine is a powerful system with a Perkins 4‑cylinder engine up to 60 KW. The Maxi cleaner has a water pressure of 180–800 bar and a flow of 23–100 litres per minute. The built-in water tank has a capacity of 1000 litres and is even available with a heat exchanger for improved economy and environment. Among other things, the Maxi cleaner can be used for industrial cleaning and petrochemical industry, concrete remediation, industrial floors and epoxy as well as cleaning at shipyards and railways.

“We are convinced that the Perkins® 400 Series engines are most suitable for our machines because we focus on longevity and robustness. Further, the engines meet the latest Stage V emission standard, are environmentally friendly and have low fuel consumption”, says Torben Andreasen, CEO of Aquila. “The Perkins 400 Series is a proven family of engines designed to give optimised performance and robust technology appropriate for the smaller engine sector. The 3‑cylinder, 1.7 litre 403J-E17T model provides up to 36 kW. That is ideal for a wide range of small off-highway applications such as Aquila’s high-pressure cleaners. Its dimensions and ease of installation are an additional plus. Designed to offer high performance, the Perkins® 400 Series provides impressive levels of refinement and proven field reliability. A standard 500-hour service interval contributes to the low overall cost of ownership. A range of options ensures you have the perfectly tailored model for your applications and markets.”, explains Martin Rasmussen, Managing Director at BU Power Systems Denmark. “So far we are very happy with the successful cooperation and are looking forward to continuing our partnership,” mentions Torben Andreasen.
